About the Course Instructor

Qari Idrees Ally is a reciter and renowned teacher of the art of Qur’an recitation. He has memorized the Qur’an, and has been formally studying Tajweed for many years.

Over the course of his life, he has studied under some respectable experts in this field, including Syaykh Talal Ahdab from Toronto, Syaykh Abdullah Siraj from Egypt, Syaykh Uthman Khan from Toronto, and Syaykh Mohamed Umer Esmail from Texas.

Qari Idrees received Ijazah (license to teach & transmit Qur’an) in riwayat Hafs ‘an Aasim from Syaykh Mohamed Umer Esmail, with a chain that extends back to Rasulullah sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam. Additionally, he received Ijazah in the ten qira’at (the authentic variant readings of the Qur’an) from Syaykh Uthman Khan and Syaykh Abdullah Siraj.

He is currently continuing his advanced studies in qira’at, and resides with his family in Toronto, Canada.
